Who are Dummett Copp?

Dummett Copp is a firm of International Patent and Trade Mark attorneys formed by the two original partners, Peter Dummett and David Copp, in 1986. The firm now has three partners and a total of six professional staff. The firm operates from offices in Martlesham Heath, near Ipswich in Suffolk.

Unlike many firms in our profession, all the professional staff practise in the areas of both patents and trade marks. We think this enables the Dummett Copp professional dealing with a particular client to see the full picture of that client's needs, and to give appropriate advice.

Dummett Copp works on behalf of clients through an international network of associates in over 150 countries of the world. Within Europe, we represent clients directly at the UK Intellectual Property Office (for UK Patents, Trade Marks and Registered Designs), the European Patent Office (for European Patent Applications), and the Community Trade Marks and Designs Office (for Trade Marks and Design Registrations in the European Union).
