OHIM Mediation

The European Community Trade Mark and Designs Office (OHIM) has announced that it will be introducing a mediation service as an alternative to proceeding with an appeal to the Boards of Appeal in trade mark and design cases.

If an appeal has been filed, and the fee paid, the service will be free of charge if the mediation takes place at OHIM’s offices in Alicante.

The new service is expected to be available from the end of October 2011. Details are on the OHIM web site.
