PCT Patent Prosecution Highway Pilots (PPH)

On 6 January 2015, PCT-PPH pilot programs began between the European Patent Office (EPO) and the following offices:

• Canadian Intellectual Property Office
• Israel Patent Office.
• Mexican Institute of Industrial Property
• Intellectual Property Office of Singapore

This means where the above national offices are the International searching authority (ISA) or International examining authority (IPEA) for an International (PCT) patent application, and a positive written opinion has been issued, faster examination will be available in the regional phase in Europe.
