I joined Dummett Copp in February 2025, having trained and qualified as a European patent attorney at a private practice firm of patent attorneys in York.
Prior to becoming a patent attorney, I obtained a Master of Physics honours degree from the University of Sheffield in 2013 and obtained a PhD in Physics/Biophysics (also at the University of Sheffield) in 2018. During my PhD I had the opportunity to conduct some of my research in China and also spent some time SCUBA diving for an environmental research and conservation organisation in Indonesia. The cross-disciplinary nature of my studies lead me to the patent profession where I enjoy being able to work on new technology in a variety of technical fields.
In my spare time, I can often be found in the countryside with my dog seeking somewhere for a good pub lunch. I also enjoy keeping active in the gym, music and visiting different parts of the world when the opportunity arises.
