International Trade Mark Filing Record

UK filings of International trade mark registrations through the Madrid system hit a new record of 1274 in 2012 according to statisticsreleased by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The previous record was in 2008, when the world financial crisis erupted. The new figures provide welcome evidence of a gathering recovery and investment by UK PLC in protecting brands overseas.
