Opposition, infringement and other contentious matters

If, due to notification by a Trade Mark Office or through a Watching service, you become aware of a third party applying to register a trade mark that is the same or similar to your mark (and for use on the same or similar goods and services), then it may be advisable to Oppose registration of that trade mark.

Our attorneys are able to advise on all aspects of trade mark opposition and will assist you at all stages of the opposition process, whether in the UK, Europe or elsewhere.

Dummett Copp’s attorneys are also able to advise regarding all aspects of trade mark infringement or other contentious issues.

If a potentially contentious issue is discovered then our attorneys are able to help you take the first step in resolving the matter. We would always try, in the first instance, to find an amicable settlement. In the event that further legal action is required, we work with a trusted and experienced member of legal counsel to bring the matter to a conclusion as swiftly and cost effectively as possible.
